Not Not Music - Semantics

This piece was written for Lisa Moore and is a part of a collection of pieces that I hope to do under the title Not Not Music. The idea came to me from an x buddy who was an architecture student and spoke about how a few professors at Columbia were playing around with the idea of Not Not architecture.

 

The explanation went as follows:

 

Take a plastic up, and turn it upside down and you have architecture; you have enclosed space. Now take that cup and smash it. You then have not architecture cuz now it doesn't embody the fundamental elements of architecture but it can be argued that it's still architecure: sculpture as architecture/post modernism. Well, now if you take that smashed cup and reform the the shape of the original cup, now that's not not architecture. You've approached the creation of archicture through a non linear, non architectural process.

 

Well, if that makes any sense, maybe this piece will.
