"Inspired by Japanese Ink Wash paintings, my goal was to mimic the strokes of a paintbrush with that of a bow stroke. Depending on the character of each stroke, gestures fall into the background or foreground, and many are performed in a way to suggest elements of nature such as birds or trees. My hope was to create some calm during tumultuous times".
